Rosacea is a common problem that many people suffer from. Unknown redness can plague the skin which can be caused by many factors such as open pores, exposure to heat, diet, lifestyle, genetics, allergies, reactions to medicines, hormones, and more. Rosacea can show up as a type of constantly flushed redness that may appear to make a person look as if they are flustered, blushing, or worse- embarrassed. Ongoing redness can take away from a person’s confidence resulting in lower self-esteem.

Prepping

Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, waxing, chemical peels or collagen injections two weeks prior to the procedure. No perfumes, deodorants or any potential irritants are to be used on the treatment area before and after treatment. Avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs and herbal supplements as they can increase the risk of bleeding.

Post Care

For any discomfort or swelling, apply ice or aloe vera gel to speed up healing and provide anti-inflammatory relief. Use the cooling gel on the affected area for up to 3 days post-treatment. Temporary rash of purple or red spots is normal and will clear in 1-2 weeks. During treatment, some patients experience skin tightening, itching, pain, and even scarring may be experienced. Avoid applying makeup or lotion to the treated area for either 24 hours or until all signs of redness and stinging have dissipated. Apply a good quality moisturizing lotion to the treated area twice daily for the duration of the treatments for at least three months after the final treatment.
